Nicholls signs 11 for baseball

The Nicholls State University baseball team continued its rebuilding efforts under head coach Chip Durham (pictured at left) as the Colonels announced the addition of 11 new recruits as Nicholls finalized its 2009 early signing class on Wednesday.

Philip Lyons of ED White and Jacob Benoit of Thibodaux High were among the signees.

"We signed some more high school kids that we think we'll be able to develop and grow, and the four junior college kids should be able to help us right away," Durham said. "We did a really good job getting some more local kids into the program."
