The Advocate reports that state District Judge Ralph Tureau has ruled that Lafourche Parish District Attorney Cam Morvant can lead an investigation into former Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brown and his role in a trip that jail trusties took to Thibodaux unescorted.Brown sought to remove Morvant from the case, saying Morvant and Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack are fishing buddies, citing a picture of the two that appeared in a recent edition of a local sports magazine . Brown's attorneys dropped their objection after meeting with Morvant and his assistants, the newspaper reported.
